Wirral Vets FC are in the Final!

Wirral Vets beat Warrigton Croft by 2 goals to 1  this afternoon in what turned out to be a great display by both teams. 

 

From the outset Wirral pressed hard and kept the possession in their opponents half creating some good goal scoring opportunities. Warrington's reply came 40 seconds before the half.  A disputable free kick given out on the right, swung in behind the defence and finding the net. 1-0 Warrington

A couple of changes at half time,  and continued pressure resulted in a equaliser from Martin. Good attacking play down the right,  and a great through ball, from Jay gave him the chance to find the net. 1-1

Wirral worked hard to maintain their attack. Defending well, and pushing all the time through midfield creating a long throw from Adam into the box, which  Vinnie guided into the net . 2-1 Wirral

Warrington fought back only to have one of their few chances hit the post.

Wirral's continued  work rate remained until the final whistle.

Overall a great team performance to send them through to the final against Radbroke Hall on Saturday.
