29th August 2018  5-3 Win

Wirral were away to Northop hall Old boys over 45's. 6pm kick off was difficult to make for some and it took us a bit to get going. NHOB had a good start. They got some early attempts in and their striker mangaed to score after getting around our defence and keeper. As per usual this made us book our ideas up and we started to play some great football through midfield and the wings. Morty was dominating the midfield with Tommy, passing the ball around and creating loads of chances. Mark struck wide and headed past the post he scored but was judged to be off side (I wasn't!) Mick connected with a powerfull header to score and Tommy with a diving header from 12 yards (The slowest header you have ever seen) made it 2-1.

NHOB didnt take long to reply. They won a corner, lashed the ball in, and it was headed in. 2-2.
Wirral continued with good football starting from the back and Ste K, Wardy, Pete and Jimmy passed the ball well through midfield making more chances. Chris got in a scoring position and  passed to the net. Goal! Then a long ball through  got Mark in who got the luck of the bounce rounded the keeper and made 4-2.

The game was by no means over and NHOB were still on the hunt for more goals but were unable to take their chances until their midfielder, in the box sidestepped and put the ball through the keepers legs (megnuts as Brad Bobley would say) 4-3.

The game could have gone anyway but Wirral scored another. A cross drilled in from Mick was not cleared away by NHOB and Mark got on the end of it and tapped it home with his left foot.
A great perfomance from both teams and as usual thanks to the ref.

25th August 2018  7-4 Loss

Connah's Quay Nomads had a strong team out and used the long ball over the defence approach with effect scoring five goals (one of which was a penalty)  in the first half . Wirral's goal came from Cato. Second half was a different affair and Wirral scored three goals. A penalty from Morty, a tap in from Rich and a blistering header from Mark. Connah's Quay went on to score two more goals too. So trully a game of two halves 5-1 in the first and 2-3 in the second over all 7-4 Loss

22nd August 2018  2-0 Win

First game Liverpool Ramblers was  a good display of football all round. Both teams played well and good passing from Wirral helped them secure the win with goals from Phil and Jimmy Mak.
