These are the original Wirral Vets team circa 1993. The team was founded by Fred Roberts who is 3rd from the right kneeling down. This game was played on his 65th birthday when he retired. The team had been going for over 30 years before this photo was taken and the life president of the club was Billy Liddell. The players left to right on the back row are as follows:- Ken Hayhurst (61) Bernie Lear (55) Norman Owen (66) Don't know the 4th Ian Jowett (51) Ian collapsed and died during a vets game of a massive heart attack. John Bews (53) Rob Owen (39) Bruce Munnery (48) Chris Clarke (49) Front row Eifion Jones (53) 2nd top scorer with over 200 goals Stuart Jones(61) John Bews (53) top scorer with over 250 goals for the club Gil ?
